The latest revamping of the Wes Craven horror classic, 'A Nightmare On Elm Street', is hitting theatres in a few months, and we're cautiously optimistic that it's not going to suck.

A pretty scary trailer has already been released, but producer Brad Fuller doesn't want people to worry about the violence, because he insists the new story in more based in the psychology of the scares than the splatter effects.

"By the nature of the film, it's not as bloody as 'Friday the 13th' or 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre'. This is more of a film that makes you have nightmares and gets under your skin in a real way, and that is what we are going for. Having said that, there is plenty of blood; when people are getting slashed there is blood to be had and we are not skimping on it."

The story in this film is apparently a bit more serious, and Freddy is a bit more pissed. Fuller has also spoken about possibly the most interesting update to the film - a new concept for the story called 'micro-naps,' which is when characters are so deprived of sleep that the brain slips into a dream state while conscious for brief seconds.

"One of the things that was exciting was coming up with the concept of micro-naps. That really amped up the third act in a pretty big way and we loved the notion of what it does because, you know, the movie can become repetitive because you are going dream-reality-dream-reality. What the micro-nap does is it kind of walks the line of both, so it allows you to blur reality and the dream world, and get some great scares out of it. It is one of the plot points that really made the movie an exciting thing for us to pursue."

Sounds interesting... Check out the trailer here:
